Karen Ruiz, CEO of Au Courant Events, was a Travel Director with Carlson Marketing Group from 2004-2010. As a result, the majority of our travel staff are also former Carlson Travel Directors. However, over the years we have also connected with former staff of Maritz, ITA Group, BI, etc.
Au Courant has the highest caliber independent travel staff who are well-trained, and have worked with top tier clients. Past clients include Fortune 200 financial, pharmaceutical, computer software, and automotive companies. The majority of our staff have also worked such high-profile events as the Olympics, the Masters Tournament, the Super Bowl, and the Grammys.
Au Courant has a general liability policy of up to $1,000,000 per occurrence, with a $5,000,000 yearly aggregate. In addition, we also currently require each independent staff to hold his or her own general liability policy of $1,000,000.
All Au Courant travel staff have numerous years of corporate experience. You may absolutely request staff with certain strengths, past clientele, etc. (based on availability).
Au Courant is always willing to take additional independent staff under our umbrella. However, that staff will need to be held to Au Courant’s high standards (obtaining an insurance policy, completing a program debrief, and submitting expense reports in a timely manner).
The fees quoted do include our management fee. The only exception could be for independent travel staff currently working with you whom you wish to put under Au Courant’s umbrella. Our pricing sheet has listed examples of expenses that are not included in our fee (flights, hotel, transportation, bellman gratuities, etc.). The fee is strictly the per day/hourly rate for each travel staff/planner.
